The Lodge can sleep approximately 20 people and has 7 bedrooms.

Explore our property enjoy bush and farm walks, visit with our animals. Take a canoe across to Tieke Marae and learn about the early Maori or just sit and listen to tales of life on the river and relax and soak up the view.
In the evening take a stroll and discover our glow worms or capture the magic of the bush from the comfort of the balcony.
Hear the distinctive call of the endangered native kiwi, as they answer from the bush in reply to our tape recordings. Gaze at the clear skies and spot the Southern Cross, the Milky Way, satellites and the billions of stars.
Awake to the sounds of the birds and enjoy your breakfast while watching the mist roll off the river for the beginning of another beautiful day. You then return to Pipiriki on the jet boat or canoe (optional) bringing to an end your unique and unforgettable “Whanganui River Adventure.”

The Bridge to Nowhere Lodge is a unique place.
The lodge is located deep in the Whanganui River National Park wilderness region. From the lodge balcony’s we have extensive views of the river and surrounding native bush. The only access to the lodge is by the” Lodges Jet Boat Service”, canoeing, tramping or helicopter. You can not drive your car to the lodge. The lodge has safe over night parking facilities available in Pipiriki.
As there is no road access, everything in and around the Lodge has had to be brought in by jet boat, including all the materials to build the Lodge. So you can imagine the fun and games we have had over the years! (See Getting it done) The Lodge itself is set in1500 acres (500 hectares) of native bush and farmland known as Ramanui.
For those of you who would like the comfort of the Lodge without the cost, self catering is the way to go. This is ideal for anyone but especially a well deserved treat for trampers and canoeists.

Our privately owned Bridge to Nowhere Campground is situated on part of our 1500 acre farm “Ramanui” It is about about 100 meters up stream from our Lodge on the same side of the river, so if you are canoeing you will see it first.
A short walk up from the river takes you to the campground which is nestled amongst the bush. Large terraced grass areas are ideal for camping. Facilities serviced Daily
We are 9km or 1 1/2 hours paddling below the Mangapurua Landing where you probably stopped to walk into the Bridge to Nowhere.
The campground was fully upgraded in 2014.
We have 4 cabins in the campground and also a cooking shelter.
There is a large terraced grassed areas overlooking the Whanganui River, ideal for tenting
Our cabins have 3 or 4 sets of bunks in them with awesome thick mattresses sleep 6 – 8. Sit back and relax and enjoy the view from the balcony. The cabins also have tables and chairs and a outdoor sink with its own water supply.
Our shower block has just been completed. Two private showers with hot water. Bliss!
We have a number of grassed terraced areas over looking the river which are ideal for setting up your tent. Either sneak away to a secluded spot or pitch your tents together with a group of family or friends.
Our large new cook house has two sinks, running water and heaps of bench space. There are also gas rings/ elements and BBQs. Picnic tables and shaded areas surround it!
Running water, tepid shower, outdoor wood bath, toilets, cooking areas, kitchen and barbeque area.
You are welcome to stroll up to the Lodge for a beer in the evening. Passes are available from your canoe supplier or from the Lodge or from the campsite itself.
It is a 5 minute walk to the Lodge where you are welcome to enjoy our fully licensed bar.

Join the Bridge to Nowhere tour in Pipiriki and jet boat 30km up to the Mangapurua Landing, walk into the Bridge then back to our exclusive campground on the banks of the Whanganui River. Spend the next day canoeing back to Pipiriki. Includes jet boat transfers, camping and canoeing.
